The Hypnospace Archival Project, or HAP, is an effort to archive content from Hypnospace's last few months.
It appears prominently in the game's final chapter, set several years after the Mindcrash incident, with the player tasked with retrieving cached content from their surviving headband.
Logistics[]
The Enforcer version of the HypnOS Headband functions as a "mini backup server," capturing page data whenever Enforcers are online. The HAP team created a program to extract and archive those pages. This program allows the player to move between captures from different dates. Whenever a new page is visited, it's archived automatically.
The HAP program window shows a grid of boxes representing pages. You can hover over them to see a page's data and click to visit them.
The HAP also has its own intranet, with two zones: one introducing the HAP team members and another with a page about the Mindcrash.
Goals[]
In her first email to the player, "HAP_Chelsea" says that the HAP's goal is to preserve Hypnospace as a part of history. However, when she reveals herself as Samantha Clausson, she makes it clear that her actual goal in founding the HAP was to show that Dylan Merchant caused the Mindcrash and framed Tim Randall Stevens.
